Redmond City Website

Redmond: Known as the “Bicycle Capital of the Northwest” for its annual summer bicycle derby, the city of Redmond is located east of the Puget Sound, some 15 miles from Seattle. The Evergreen Point Bridge across Lake Washington connects Redmond directly to Seattle offering families who desire a less populated area an easy commute. The natural beauty of Redmond -- which borders the north end of Lake Sammamish, surrounded by tall evergreen forests and salmon spawning streams -- compliments the high quality of life within the city itself. More than 45,000 residents enjoy good schools, a healthy economic base, affordable housing, an excellent parks system that affords numerous recreational opportunities and many cultural attractions and events.

The real estate market is affordable and diverse. Beautifully landscaped single-family homes are available in Willows/Rose Hill, Redmond Ridge, Lakeside, Overlake, West Lake, Sammamish and Union Hill. Prices range from $70,000 to more than $1.8 million for estate properties with waterfront views. There are 48 schools within the Lake Washington School District serving the cities of Redmond and Kirkland. Scores on standardized tests place the district in the state’s top 10%. Redmond also enjoys a diverse and growing economic base and is home to several major high-tech firms including Microsoft.
