BUCKLEY REAL ESTATE
Buckley, Washington. At just above 800 feet elevation, Buckley is usually above the fog and below the snow. Buckley has a population of 4505 and is situated near the White River at the base of the foothills inching upward toward towering Mt. Rainier. Buckley's visitor's guide has been deftly written by the hand of nature herself. The area is home to the historic Foothills Trail, a 1.8 mile bicycling and horseback riding path that follows the course of the old Northern Pacific Railroad line that spurred the rise of Buckley in the late 19th century. Coal and sandstone deposits located in the area urged the NPR to lay track east from Tacoma in 1877. Less than 10 years later the tracks crossed the Cascades, and soon Buckley was a thriving stop on the cross-continental line from St. Paul, Minnesota to Tacoma.
